Melbourne Mint’s newest treasure: limited edition 1oz 2013 Kangaroo 999 silver coin – Monster box release

We would like to introduce Melbourne Mint’s newest treasure, the classically designed limited edition 1oz 2013 Kangaroo 999 silver coin. To pay homage to Victoria’s rich gold history and its future, the intricate kangaroo motif illustrated by prominent Melbourne illustrator Michelle Gaudion, takes inspiration from the early 1/4 ounce, kangaroo office, 1853 gold coin; the first coins in the fledgling colony of Victoria.

The reverse of the coin takes reference from Melbourne Mint’s corporate logo, which has also been used across other elements in Melbourne Mint branding including the design and build of Melbourne Mint's educational vault.

The Futura font is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed in 1927 by Paul Renner. It is based on geometric shapes that became representative visual elements of the Bauhaus design style of 1919–1933. Futura has an appearance of efficiency and forwardness. The typeface is derived from simple geometric forms (near-perfect circles, triangles and squares) and is based on strokes of near-even weight, which are low in contrast.

All of Melbourne Mint's range of coins and bullion, designed by Nick Brown and Phil Childs from The Reactor™, incorporate the best of the past whilst focusing on the future.

As a limited first release, only 50,000 coins have been made available. The coins will be issued in lots of 500 as part of a monster box collection, therefore a sum total of only 100 monster boxes will be released by Melbourne Mint.

Take part in this attractive investment opportunity and secure yourself a piece of Melbourne’s history.
